Meal planning week of 20261005
Minimal spell slots today, so lunches this week will be my standard root veg soup with chicken. No brain needed for the prep since have done it so often, and got it started early enough to not have to cut the veggies into smaller pieces. (Enough for dinner tonight, too.) As an added bonus, parsnips were in stock at the grocery store yesterday, for the first time in a while.
But now, all the other meal prep needs to be planned around the need to deal with the soup later this afternoon. This is the downside to making it. While it doesn't have to be blended--though i prefer it that way--it still has to be dealt with in general and the slow cooker cleaned.
Am currently resting, but in 25 minutes will need to get up for a medication, second breakfast, and a fresh mug of tea. Will start the sorghum (for today's lunch and dinner the next three days) in the small slow cooker at that time. Tofu and frozen veg will go with that.
Second breakfasts for the week will be yogurt, oats, and dried cranberries. Afternoon snack, dates and buffalo mozzarella. Those are both minimal assembly.
Breakfast will be my usual frozen greens + egg, with rice cakes because i've got a thing of them open and they'll go stale soonish. And half an orange.
The prep part of all that feels doable? Starting the soup always takes more spell slots than i expect, when i'm feeling this run-down. Writing this out has reminded me that it's still quite early in the morning. Lots of time to rest between tasks; it'll work out ok. Even if i end up with a chunky, brothy soup instead of a smooth one.
