A small, quiet life

Meal planning week of 20260802

Last week's meals were cobbled together from what i had on-hand, as a migraine and worse-than-usual hangover prevented me from leaving the house over the weekend. And the cobbling was all from freezer and pantry with actual cooking a no-go as well. So today and tomorrow i'm doing some re-stocking as well as lunch prep for the week.

The challenge today is that i've already used several spell slots on laundry then going to the grocery store, and putting everything away. It was a larger grocery haul--necessary due to both skipping last week and needing to stock up on a few things in the usual rotation--but was at least able to get the most needed things all at one store. Also, very glad that it was one of the smaller stores; feels like a big one would've wiped me out entirely.

Today:

The slow cookers help me a lot, since i can put things in, set a timer, then rest. The main trick is to not have them be done at the same time as another task needs doing outside the kitchen. But as i'm already done with laundry, today isn't as complicated as sometimes can be.

Tomorrow:

The soup is my usual lunch when i've got the spell slots for the prep. Peeling and chopping four meals' worth of potatoes, carrots, and parsnips can be a little rough on my hands. If i get a migraine tomorrow morning, will cook a pot of grains (probably brown rice) instead and then lunch will be that, chicken, and a mix of frozen veg.

Meals

breakfast Pacha bread, an egg, green beans, and yogurt.

2nd breakfast Oats, yogurt, dried banana flakes, and dark chocolate.

lunch Root veg soup, chicken, and spinach.

snack Dates and cheese (manchego)

dinner Whole grain (millet, then sorghum), protein (tuna, tofu w/ nutritional yeast), greens (chard, collards), radish, bell pepper, and orange.

dessert bar cookie

On the nutritional side of things, this meal plan will hit the calcium, folate, B12, fiber, and protein quantities i need to both function well (gut and energy) and keep my calcium levels high enough (plus supplementation) for the medication i'm on for osteopenia.
