Glimpses of today (20261104)
Much as i'd rather head to work in the full dark rather than when the sun's at precisely the wrong angle to potentially trigger migraines, it was really neat to see a hawk gliding low this morning. Highlighted in gold, it looked almost ethereal.
Apparently, one colleague recently told another that she's a "delusional optimist." Seems like a good tshirt slogan.
My mom and her birding friends will be going on a field trip tomorrow, to see if they can spot a burrowing owl at a state park. We're on the edge of their breeding range, but a few don't migrate away from this particular area. I'm looking forward to seeing their pictures, if they're successful and the rain stays away long enough.
