Glimpses of today (20260903)
Spent nearly all day neck-deep in spreadsheets. Swear i'm seeing an afterimage of empty cells every time i blink.
Recently i signed up to be a volunteer with ResearchMatch.org. Enjoyed being involved in a big study a few years ago--testing a vaccine formula that would allow mRNA vials to not need to be kept so cold--and it can be a simple way to feel like i'm contributing to making the world better. So far, i've gotten six potential matches but only two that i responded Yes to, and those are just for surveys or interviews. The others, i didn't quite fit the criteria (don't need to lose weight, for example). Will be interesting to see whether they contact me. And whether i get recruited for anything actually involving one of my chronic conditions.
Was at the drug store yesterday and spotted a pretty jigsaw puzzle on clearance. Earlier this evening, dumped it out to start sorting and...remembered why i don't usually buy drugstore puzzles. The pieces are so tiny!
