Glimpses of today (20260901)
Took a chance that the ride home wouldn't be too hot and scooted to work. Saw four Mississippi kits sitting in a tall, dead tree, kicked a softball out of the middle of the road, and dodged two puddles from yards that were clearly being over-watered (in a drought!). Only semi-regretted taking the scooter on the way home.
In a zoom meeting, i was asked for my report just after i'd started eating a piece of chocolate. Asked to skip; a colleague teased that i should share. So after the meeting, took them an unopened bar. They were very tickled!
This evening, checked on the four partial stalks of wilted celery i'd stuck in a glass of water a couple days ago. Even with as little light as the window gets, it's already putting out some new leaves. With a little tending this should last me a while.
