A small, quiet life

Best laid plans

This morning i'd planned to go to the grocery store, as usual. Being on the edge of a migraine made that a bad idea--bright lights can tip me over quite easily. Normally i'd go Monday morning instead, but i've got two medical appointments on the schedule and one is early enough to mean i'd be rushing. Not generally a good idea as it makes my tremor worse, plus the added complication of lack of time to get my caffeine dose to avoid, you guessed it, a migraine.

Since i can keep my freezer and pantry fairly well stocked for just these occasions, it's only a matter of some tweaks to the original meal plan and i'll be fine. It's just frustrating timing because next weekend i'll be visiting family (hopefully) and need to have a meal to take outside of my usual batch-cooking cycle. And the timing for that means it'll need to be made immediately after next Sunday's grocery run. sigh Of course, the visit itself is yet another plan that may or may not pan out.

For today, on the plus side, so far the migraine has remained at "just hinting" levels. The two other things that were necessary to complete (laundry and baking cookies) are done, so i'm moving on to the next level of tasks. A few will get moved to next week due to also involving possible migraine triggers, with one becoming higher priority as a result.

That's just the reality of having chronic conditions, for me. Plans are loose by necessity and i build in flexibility when at all possible to account for changing priorities. What is necessary vs needed vs nice isn't set in concrete unless there's an outside deadline involved. Luckily, the only thing wrong with my executive function is that i'm prone to professional-level procrastination.
